Good sources for Mandarin Chinese?
So I’ve decided to learn Mandarin Chinese, maybe not now seeing as I’m struggling to learn as much German as I can before April 20th (cause we have a German student and I think it’d be fun to chat in German a bit, then in the summer I’m going TO Germany so I DEFINITELY should learn some) but maybe afterwards.
I’m not really worried about learning characters. (I’m learning Japanese and Kanji aren’t hard to learn at all so I know what works for me when learning Kanji and Hanzi. I already know some Hanzi).
I mean mostly pronounciation (which is driving me nuts) and grammar. So like…. any recources you have for learning Mandarin? I use www.iknow.co.jp for Japanese vocab and I know they have some Chinese sources and I’ve tried those but they aren’t really helpful so any vocab recources you know might be helpful too. I prefer online and free cause I have no money but if there are books I may be able to get some money for them later.
I would recommend a book … “Chinese in Steps” (it comes in three parts, published by the Cypress Book Co UK). Each part comes with 2 CDs and it is very reasonably priced. A very sound textbook – I have been using it myself for 8 months.
