Difference between Eastern and Western Medicine… why?
Why do they teach medicine so differently? And here is what I mean, I don’t care about opinions of voodoo, ancient Chinese medicine or anything like that.
I live in Japan. I am 6 months pregnant. I have learned in medical school to stray from seafood. Japanese medical school however says seafood is fine, such as sushi (which fyi isn’t all raw, most of it is actually cooked in some fashion).
There are a lot of contradictions between Western (American) and eastern (Japanese) medicine. Yet, on average the Japanese live 10 years longer. So, why are they telling Americans to stay away from all this stuff when the Japanese do it and are completely fine?
I am not retarded, I know many things factor into a life expectancy. I just gave ONE example.
No where did I say, “sushi makes you live longer.”
Some studies (obviously not conclusive) may be used on both sides, that had contradictory results. Other reason can be that different peoples have slightly different tolerance levels or preferences, so the recommendations come custom made. More to do with culture perhaps than pure science. Hope your pregnancy goes well
