Which languages, in your opinion, are the easiest to learn and the most difficult? 10 pts?
I known learning a second language strongly depends on the learner’s native language, but in your opinion which seem the easiest and which seem the most difficult?
I think the easiest are; Spanish, English, and Sign Language
And the most difficult are; Dutch, Portuguese, and Mandarin Chinese.
As you said, it depends on the native language of the learner.
It would be much easier for a native English speaker to learn another language based upon the Latin alphabet than it would be to say, learn a logographic language such as Mandarin. As they would need to learn an entirely new structure, before being able to apply it. Vise versa with a native speaker of Mandarin, who is likely to find it easier to learn other logographic languages such as non-Romanized Vietnamese, than it would be to learn English, as again, to native speakers, is an entirely new structure that must be learned and then applied.
